Barbara Paul is professor of art history, art theory and gender studies at the University of Fine Arts and Industrial Design in Linz/Austria. She has studied art history, literature and theatre sciences at Munich, Vienna and Berlin (Free University) and did her PhD in the history of art institutions and her habilitation research in feminist art and the history of reception since the 60s. Recently she was guest professor and lecturer in the postgraduate programms Identity and Difference. Gender Constructions and Interculturality (18th - 21st Century) and Cultural Gender Studies at the University of Trier and Oldenburg/Germany. Her main research areas are besides modern and contemporary art the history and theory of art history and art institutions, cultural politics and gender studies. Currently she is also vice-head of the department of Fine Arts and Cultural Studies at the University of Fine Arts and Industrial Design Linz. |
