Lioudmila Voropai is a Russian independent curator, art critic and researcher in media art. Since 2006 she is enrolled in the Art and Media Studies Ph.D. program at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne, where she is conducting her doctoral research “The Institutionalisation of Media Art: An Impact of Cultural Policy and Socioeconomic Factors in the Process of Differentiation of New Art Forms”. She earned her Master’s Degree in Philosophy in 1997 from the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) in Moscow, and M.A. in Audiovisual Media in 2004 from KHM. She is an author of several publications about contemporary media art as well as various curating and art projects. (www.khm.de/~voropai/).
