Lisa Beaven is lecturer in art history at La Trobe University, Australia. She has published widely in the area baroque art and culture and her research on art and collecting in Baroque Rome is recognized on an international level, and publications include essays in the well-known art historical journals and book anthologies The Italians: Renaissance and Baroque Paintings from Italian Collections, (Centro Di, Florence, 2004), Super/Heroes: from Hercules to Superman (New Academia Publishing, Washington 2007), Poussin Futures, (Penn.
